| 1. Urn for the sorting of the "Bala d'oro”. During the regular Convocation, the Confratello who extracts a golden ball from the urn receives a souvenir medal from the Guardian Grando. |
 |
| 2. "Bellot urn (”bossali and ballotte" vote)" . Urn was used in the past for all the votes taken by the Scuola. There were two cartridges (i bossoli) signifying yes or no ( DE SI and DE NO) or three (the third for abstentions, the “non sinceri” which assured that the vote was secret). |

| 3. Urn for votes (16th Century), recovered in red velvet and decorated with a bronze gilded monogram SR. The urn is still used during the convocations. |

The Arch-confraternity of the Scuola Grande San Rocco is committed by Statute to the promotion of the cult of the Patron Saint, to charity work and to providing mutual spiritual assistance among the confratelli. The conservation and care of the Scuola’s artistic and cultural assets is one of its principle obligations.
There are about 350 Confratelli, including also women, who are called “Capitolari” and who meet in the Convocato Generale (General Meeting), the highest organ of the Arch-confraternity, at least once a year, in May, in regular session (see figs. 1-3). There are certain prerequisites that a Confratello must have. They must belong to the territory of the Patriarcato or of the Venice Commune by birth or by residence. The membership fees traditionally known as: “benintrada” which is paid at the moment of admission and “luminaria”, an annual payment. The investiture of the “cappa” (cloth) for the new Confratelli takes place on the 7th July every year, the festival of the Dedication of the Church.
The Scuola welcomes as “Confratelli d’Onore” people eminent in their dignity or considered highly worthy of the Brotherhood. In past centuries, the “Confratelli di devozione o di disciplina” (the confratelli of devotion or discipline) were those who assumed the duty of service to the Arch-confraternity, under any form.
The Cancelleria, the governing body of the Brotherhood (see fig. 4), is composed of fifteen members chosen from the Confratelli Capitolari: they keep their ancient names regardless of the duties they fulfil. The members of the Cancelleria serve for three years and a third of their number are replaced every year. Those who are elected in the Convocato of May take on their charges the following January. The “Banca”, a consultation body for the Guardian Grando, is made up of seven members of the Cancelleria, while the remaining members make up the “Zonta”. The Guardian Grando, at the end of his term, remains in the Cancelleria holding the title “Guardian Grando ultimo” (the last Grand Guardian).
Among the elected posts there are also three Revisori dei Conti (auditors), two actual ones and one who is a substitute, who are all replaced annually.
The Scuola has its own Chaplain, who has the title Rettore della Chiesa (Church Rector), and its own overseer, responsible for the conservation of the artistic and architectural patrimony.
A complete list of the Confratelli and of the social posts is displayed on the Ground Floor Room of the Scuola Grande.
